Testimonial

" My first trip to Nepal was organised for me by Les from Global Treks n Tours. We climbed Island Peak & went to Base Camp and the whole experience was truly awesome but made better by being looked after by a really great team. Les is a wealth of knowledge and has lots of good tips to help you get the most out of the trek. The cook was a superstar and how he makes pizzas with no oven I'll never know! Thanks for the magical trip and looking forward to getting back up high soon!"

Gear an stuff

It is not necessary to go out and purchase the best boots, the best backpack or sleeping bag! To go trekking in Nepal or Tibet you must be participating in trekking anyway and to do that you must already have boots etc.
All you need if you wished for example to go to Base Camp is lightweight boots and if they are your favorite comfortable half worn out ones then so be it! Thats all thats needed. The trail is a worn path all the way. It is a walk and not a mountaineering experience. Your boots do not need to have Gortex lining. The climate can be quite warm during the day but cooler at nights. We stay in Guest houses that are quite cozy so an expensive sleeping bag is not required either!
Backpacks....anything will do! The local porters dont like our western backpacks so they just put them into their own baskets and carry them that way.
Lightweight long trousers are quick drying and comfortable. We carry our own daypack and in that will be a windproof jacket, camera, water bottle, lip balm, sunglasses, hat and not a lot more..

10% Discount

For the remainder of 2009 we can offer a 10% Discount for treks and tours in Nepal and Tibet. This has come about because many suppliers such as Guest Houses, Hotels, porters and guides etc have reduced their rates hoping that this will increase the number of tourists. Most International Airlines also offer discounted fares......There is no better time to travel than now!
